A mnemonic reminder
I am a bit later than usual with my pre-‘Challenge 69’ reminder because I have been working today (you will be pleased to hear!) on the latest installment of my Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds retrospective, due out later this month.
But enough of that, back to the story!
‘Track 19’ of ‘Challenge 69’ will be landing in your inboxes, over its normal two parts, at 9am tomorrow and Sunday. We are getting pretty close to the end now.
With the solving of this latest chapter’s ‘challenge’ helped along its way by the use of a mnemonic (which really is a great word!) this got me thinking …
… for this reminder’s obligatory playlist, could I come up with a set of songs which were a mnemonic for MNEMONIC, i.e. a list of songs starting with M, then N, etc?
The best method I could conceive to achieve this was to go to my much underused iTunes library and simply select my ‘most played’ song beginning with each letter.
This proved an interesting exercise; a reminder of how quickly, and completely, the once ubiquitous iTunes became obsolete (substituted by a sea of streaming services). As a result, at least two of my ‘favourites’ were clearly still heavily influenced by Jordan, even though he hasn’t lived at home now for eight years!
It’s a great, varied selection of songs though, well worth a listen.
