In case anybody’s wondering, the solution to yesterday’s pre-challenge playlist topical poser all lay in the song titles:
Jackie Wilson Said by Dexys Midnight Runners
Long May You Run by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Danny Callahan by Conor Oberst
Eden by 10,000 Maniacs, and
Golden Brown by The Stranglers
With a little bit of discretion on the missing ‘g’ in Callaghan therefore, they all included British post-war prime ministers. I did try, but unsurprisingly failed, to find a song with Truss in the title. (In retrospect, I’m just mightily relieved I didn’t theme the question around ‘third albums’ and include The Smiths!)
More importantly, it’s now just sixteen hours until ‘Track 2’ (part one) hits your inboxes at 10am BST (have to include that last bit given ‘Challenge 69’s readers are spread over eight countries.)
Hope you all enjoy reading ‘Track 2’ (as always, any feedback is most welcome), and that at least some of you will embrace the spirit of competition to see who can solve this installment’s ‘Challenge’ first.
How about Public Enemy’s “Can’t Truss It?”
