That’s finally it then, ‘Challenge 69’ is all completed, with, pleasingly, record numbers of you having opened and read the final episodes. I hope you enjoyed it.
Huge thanks to those kind readers who contacted me direct with their thoughts on how my story ended (the feedback really makes the effort worthwhile), but now the whole thing is ‘done and dusted’ I would really LOVE to hear from a few others, so …
… what did you think of ‘Challenge 69’?
PLEASE spare a couple of minutes to let me know how you found my story, either via the comments button below or, if you prefer, by replying direct to this email.
Plus, for those ‘traditional’ readers (and I have great sympathy with you) who find the serialisation of a novel a bit annoying, and simply want to be able to, “get on with it,” the complete book is now available, in one place, through the following link:
'Challenge 69': The Whole Story!
###
There is no obvious chapter soundtrack this time around, as it would simply end up being a major disappointment without featuring ‘Challenge’ the (wholly fictitious) Joy Division/Durutti Column (FAC69) song that formed the mystery’s ‘unique’ prize!
I could have tried getting AI to write one, but it would inevitably have been dreadful!
I will leave you therefore with a reprise of the overall ‘Challenge 69’ playlist, featuring all the maverick artists who came to inhabit my novel, and their songs that I selected to entitle each ‘Track’ along the way, with Alabama 3’s ‘Sopranos’ theme (which kicked off the final ‘Hidden Bonus Track’ chapter) now added as a ‘visible’ bonus.
If you enjoyed the story, then you’ll surely love the soundtrack!!
As previously promised however, this will be the last ever ‘Challenge 69’ Substack post, so (for those who have made it this far) can I firstly pass on my heartiest congratulations on your amazing dedication and stamina, and, finally, ask one last time for your feedback.
The search continues to find a publisher willing to embrace the quirky, but as the old song doesn’t go, “it’s still a challenge.” If this ever bears fruit I will get back in touch, to let you know, but in the meantime it’s …
… Au Revoir!!
