Lost in France
I’ve had to pre-schedule today’s reminder about ‘Track 4’s imminent release, as we’re currently away ‘en France’ visiting Jordan, although hopefully we’re not ‘perdu’!
‘Challenge 69’s next instalment, with a transatlantic twist, should hit your inboxes at 10am on Monday 10th. As usual, the section published that day will be paused at the point where the latest ‘challenge’ gets issued, with the ‘Track’s conclusion released 24 hours later.
‘Track 4’ signals another milestone for my book. The first three chapters had all been pre-shared with three trusted subscribers, for their feedback and editing input (beta readers I believe they’re called in publishing land). So, this will be the first time my story becomes ‘new to all’. (A big thankyou to Louise, Tim, and Keith - your input was really helpful, both in correcting my occasionally sloppy punctuation and in making suggestions on story flow - here’s hoping I can manage OK without you.)
The knock-on effect of this though is that ‘Track 4’ will see three more (competitive!) readers finally let off their quizzical leashes, setting them free to join the race to solve the latest ‘Challenge’ first. Competition could be hot this time!
It won’t take a genius to work out the theme for today’s playlist.
It took all my willpower not to include ‘Psycho Killer’, with its “qu'est-ce que ç'est?” chorus (which will raise its head soon enough in ‘Track 6’), but I’ve always been strangely partial to a bit of Bonnie, and who could possibly resist a band called ‘French for Rabbits’, especially one from New Zealand.
That’s all for now folks, but remember, “juste soixante-cinq heures pour attendre le prochain défi,”, and if that’s grammatically incorrect you can blame Google Translate not me.
