Before attaching the now traditional ‘aural addition’ for ‘Track 12’, I just wanted to say a quick thank-you, once again, to everybody who is continuing to follow ‘Challenge 69’.
The ‘blood, sweat, and tears’ it took to write the book often felt even more nonsensical given the high likelihood nobody would ever get to read it! So, despite my ongoing quest to secure a traditional publisher, the serialisation of my story on Substack in the interim, with ‘hundreds’ of subscribers and a consistently high proportion of ‘regular readers’, has (gratifyingly) helped fend off my fear of ‘C69’ disappearing into a void.
With a plan now in place for a further ‘publisher/agent campaign’ during March and April, which your existing support has already helped to strengthen, there’s no need to worry, I’m not about to get that begging bowl out again! …
… having now converted a supportable percentage of existing subscribers to paid (for which much thanks, you all know who you are) there is no need for me to come over all Bob Geldof again (“just give us your f***ing money”), however …
… I am still a little short on review/testimonial material, so in those immortal words of Mr. Eric Morecambe:
What do you think of it so far?
Clearly it would be better if you avoid Eric’s one word answer, but if you could take a few minutes to reply to this email, or use the button below, to provide a few thoughts (however brief) on what you’ve made of ‘Challenge 69’ so far, it would be a huge help.
Thanks in advance, and now, without further delay, here’s that ‘Track 12’ Soundtrack.
It helps if you like The Triffids of course (or have at least heard of them) but, biased as I am, there’s still plenty (nearly an hour!) of other good stuff for your listening pleasure!
The story will be back, with a Hungarian twist, on Saturday 11 March.
